As global politics intensifies, as we’re introduced to increasingly unpredictable technologies, and as the social fabric in many of our communities seems to fray, the gift of Zen practice that leads without a doubt toward inner freedom and peace is more essential than ever.
At Mountain Gate, Mitra Roshi shares her unique understanding of a 360° practice that incorporates trauma recovery with her 50 years of Zen training experience. This style of teaching along with Mitra Roshi’s unprecedented level of experience are truly a national treasure, but require donations to keep being shared in their fullest. The continued functioning of our unique meditation center relies on the generosity of friends and sangha members like you.
Donations Make a Big Difference
Donations are essential for Mountain Gate's monthly operation expenses including insurance, utility bills, food for residents and sesshin participants, transportation, and building maintenance and repairs. To cover these expenses and enable the Mountain Gate sangha to continue to offer opportunities for Zen training, trauma recovery, and deepening peace, please consider the following donation levels for 2025.
Our estimation of 2025 expenses are approximately $12,667/month. Your donations keep Mountain Gate running as we do the essential work of sharing the Dharma!
• $14,288 major electrical repair work needed in November 2024
• $900 one month of property & vehicle insurance
• $600 sesshin scholarship for one student. (Sesshin donations of $300 only cover half the actual cost of sesshin)
• $500 one month of residential training per person, including food, transportation and utilities
• $150 one month of internet service
• $50 to cover transportation to and from town (an hour each direction) for food and other essential supplies
• $25 monthly subscription to post teishos ad-free online
